LIHUE — The Waipa Foundation needs help controlling invasive weeds and planting native trees and other useful and edible plants in the Waipa ahupuaa.
A community workday is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and includes a free lunch.
The bi-monthly events allow the general public to explore the beautiful area of Waipa and help protect the stream.
Those interested in helping should meet at Waipa, located one-half mile past Hanalei. Bring a water bottle, shoes or boots, a change of clothes, towel, snacks, sunscreen, gloves, insect repellent, good energy and a smile.
