People who work with older adults are welcome to hear Stan Michaels, Injury Prevention Specialist with the Hawaii State Department of Health Emergency Medical Services Injury Prevention Branch.
Michaels will be speaking from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. today at the Kauai District Health Office Conference Room.
The presentation is to help develop a fall prevention coalition for Kauai, said Rachelle Bachran, public health educator for the Hawaii State Department of Health.
People can learn how to prevent falls in older adults in Hawaii, help reduce the severity and risk of falls among the elderly on Kauai and find out what people are able to do to help kupuna age in place and remain living safely at home.
