Coach Donna Palmer is still looking for soccer players for a Girls Under 14 team as the Kauai Soccer Association season opener looms closer.
The KSA opens its spring season on Saturday with five Under 8 games, seven Under 10 games, five Under 12 games, and four Under 14 games and an Under 16 game.
Games start at 8 a.m. and the public is invited to view the competition which will play on four fields at the North Vidinha soccer fields.
Jane Garma, scorekeeper for KSA, said the season with 49 teams ranging from Under 8 years old to Under 16 years old was originally scheduled to start last Saturday but was postponed due to the inclement weather.
Palmer said she is seeking young girls between the ages of 11 through 14 interested in playing soccer with a positive attitude and good soccer skills. Girls who are 14 years old must have turned 14 after Aug. 1, 2013.
Practices are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Wailua Homesteads Park or the Kapaa Beach Park. If a player is on another soccer team, that player needs to attend just one or two days of practice.
