Teruo Oshiro
Teruo Oshiro died on February 3, 2014, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. Born on February 8, 1927 in Lawai, he retired from the Air National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gesuke and Ushi Oshiro; and sisters Sue Turek, Haruno Clayton, and Mitsue Oshiro.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Tomita; daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Berson of Baltimore Maryland, Kerry (Dane) Han of Maui, and Lisa (Brandon Vallejos) Tomita of Kauai; brothers, Shige Oshiro of Kekaha, Yoshi Oshiro of Pearl City, Honolulu, and Rodney (Yvonne) Oshiro of Hilo; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friends, Malama Ohana and Nakaahiki Ohana.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 18th, 12:00 noon, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai, with visitation at 11:30 a.m. Family suggests aloha attire.

Dorothy Cobb
Dorothy Cobb of Waimea passed away at Kauai Care Center on January 24, 2014, at the age of 71. She was born in Illinois on March 3, 1942, and was an artist.
Preceded in death by her parents, Hellene and Floyd Kohls; and brother James Kohls.
She is survived by her sister Mary Boudart; brother, Larry Kohls and three nephews, Michael, Robert and Timothy Boudart.

Samuel K. Kaleiohi
Samuel K. “Buff” Kaleiohi died on February 2, 2014, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. Born on August 3, 1928 in Honolulu, he was a retired security guard, bus driver, and County of Kauai Parks employee. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ephraim and Evangeline Kaleiohi; sisters, Winifred Cummings and Evelyn Reis; brothers, Ephraim and Phillip Kaleiohi; sisters-in-law, Roberta, Laurie, and Elaine Kaleiohi; brothers-in-law, Benjamin Cummings and Robert Goias; father-in-law, Lewis South; and stepfather-in-law, Walter Hanson.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Lois Kaleiohi; daughter, Angeline Kaleiohi; goddaughter, Nalani Brun; mother-in-law, Marjorie Hanson of California; sisters, Evangeline Evans, Phylis Goias, and Daisy Tailfeathers; brothers, Edward (Amanda) Kaleiohi, Abraham (Yolanda) Kaleiohi, Joseph (Marlene) Kaleiohi, Robert Kaleiohi of O’ahu, and Theodore Kaleiohi of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, at Kapaa United Church of Christ at 1315 Ulu Street, Kapaa with visitation from 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10 a.m. Family suggests casual attire and request that flowers be omitted.

Connie Velarde
“Tu Tu Connie” Connie Velarde of Kalaheo, Kauai passed away on November 7, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 75. Born on January 30, 1938 in Mariam Indy, she was a housewife.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim Depiero of Eleele, Tracy Roma of Avalon Catalina Island, Julie Ann MacQueen of Hanapepe; four grandchildren, Vanessa, Serina, David Romo, and Kainalu Palama; brothers, Charles Wimmer of Wisconsin, Jimmy Jumper of Washington, and John Jumper of Washington; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Join us at Salt Pond Beach Park for her “Celebration of Life” Sunday, Feb. 23rd at the 3rd pavilion at 3:00 till sunset. Lady Ipo will be starting the ceremony at 4:00 following with George Kahumoku Jr and Axcels Menese playing the beautiful ukulele along with chant and the blowing of the pu. Bring a beach chair and a pupu would be appreciated.

Sara Kuhaulua
Sara Jimenez De Kuhaulua of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on February 9, 2014, at the age of 83. She was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on November 2, 1930 and retired as a housekeeper with Mokihana Hotel.
Preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Kuhaulua II.
She is survived by four daughters, Carmen Harbin of Mississippi; Mary Huddy of Wailua, Leialoha (John) McGee of Tennessee; Laura Stacy of Pahala, Hawaii; son, Benjamin (Tracy) Kuhaulua III; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other family members on Kauai and Mexico.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church with services beginning at 11:00.

Inez Jean “Rikki” Moe
Inez Jean “Rikki” Moe, 89, formally of Kekaha, Kauai, died Friday, January 3, 2014 in Willmar, Minnesota. Born on March 8, 1924 in Willmar, MN. She was a Registered Nurse and a community volunteer on Kauai with the KVMH Hospital Auxiliary, PTA, Red Cross and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was very active in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orlean R. Moe and parents Obed A. Rykken and Lillie A. Rykken. Surviving are her children Tisha Ellinger and Kari Moe of Willmar, Owen Moe of Kekaha, Charlie Moore of Seattle, Washington and granddaughter, Emma Moore of San Francisco, California.
A private family service was held January 11 at the home of her daughter Tisha Ellinger in Willmar.
George Kodama
George Kotobuki Kodama of Hanalei passed away at home on February 7, 2014, at the age of 92. He was born in Hanalei on July 4, 1921, a veteran of the United State Army 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 3rd Battalion and retired from the County of Kauai Hanalei District.
He is survived by his son, Clifton (Gail) Kodama of Hanalei; sister, Sue (Allen) Miyahara of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were held. Family requests no Koden.

Henry Kahale
Henry Kikila “Uncle Kila” Kahale of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii. Passed away at his home on January 9, 2014 at the age of 65. Born on April 11, 1948 on Niihau. He was a retired painter at P.M.R.F.
Preceded in death by: parents, Edward and Lily Kahale.
He is survived by his wife, Oeilan Kahale, Kapaa; sister, Mabel Kaneapua, Hanapepe, numerous Aunties and Uncles, cousins, friends.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 22, 2014 at Lydgate Beach Park, Kapaa

Alvin Bullock
Alvin Eugene Bullock, Born May 14, 1924 in Tulare, California, passed away on February 6, 2014 in Castaic, California, and Lived in Kauai, Hawaii for over 30 years. He was a retired Sr. Chief Petty Officer.
He is survived by his son in law Thomas Kiser and family, his niece Janet Allen, Barbara Teague, Mindy Squibb, and his nephews John Bullock, Mike Bullock and Ken Bullock.
Gene will be interred at Bakersfield National Veterans Cemetery with full military honors on February 14, 2014 and a family get together on Sunday, February 16, 2014.
