LIHUE — Arlen Miner-Ho, general manager of Aloha Kia Kauai, had just two words Thursday — “We’re Open!”
The automotive dealership for Kia automobiles has been developing at its site on 4359 Pahee Street.
Miner-Ho and other leaders from Aloha Kia had anticipated a December opening, but waited patiently until construction at the facility could be completed this month.
“We’ve already sold four cars Wednesday for pick up today,” said Jon Kaaihue, in charge of Internet sales. “We’ve also had a few sold at the Kauai Harley-Davidson shop.”
Miner-Ho said the newest Aloha Kia dealership will feature a sales area, a service facility and parts store under its roof.
“This is just our soft opening,” Kaaihue said. “We’re finally open with a full inventory of Kia automobiles as well as a good selection of previously-owned vehicles, many of which came from the Kauai Harley-Davidson location.”
Miner-Ho said the sales area is open six days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The dealership is closed on Sundays.
The service area is open five days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.
The Kauai facility is the newest of the Aloha Auto Group, which includes three Aloha Kia dealerships on Oahu, two on the Big Island, and one on Maui.
With Bill and Niki van den Hurk at its head, the Aloha Auto Group is celebrating its 16th year of serving the Hawaiian Islands. It also offers Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles through its Kauai Harley-Davidson shop in Puhi.
