PUHI — This is the final week to get tickets for the American Culinary Federation breakfast from ticket outlets, said Chef Martina Hilldorfer of the Kauai Community College culinary arts department.
“Ticket sales have been going very well from the students and at the cafeteria,” Hilldorfer said.
The 28th annual ACF breakfast benefits the culinary arts program at KCC, and tickets are available at the Kalaheo Coffee and Cafe, the Kauai Coffee Visitors Center, the Koloa Fish Market, the Fish Express in Lihue, Sole Mates at the Coconut Marketplace in Waipouli, Pono Market in Kapaa, Mark’s Place and Contemporary Flavors Catering in the Puhi Industrial Park and at the KCC cafeteria.
Ticket prices are $15 in advance, or $18 at the door. Children between the ages of 5 to 10 years old are $5, and children under 5 years old are free.
The breakfast will be 7 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the KCC campus and will offer a menu featuring eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, Portuguese sausage, ham, steamed rice, hash browned potatoes, omelets, pancakes, pastries, Kauai Coffee, Meadow Gold juices and milk, and Kauai Springs water.
“We’ll also have some surprise menu items,” said Marty Amaro. “We’ll be at the market at the Kauai Community College Saturday for those last-minute diners.”
Hilldorfer said the annual brunch has been touted as Kauai’s biggest and best brunch.
“Come walaau with your friends and neighbors, enjoy the island-style entertainment and eat to your hearts content with grinds from Kauai’s future chefs,” Hilldorfer said.
Proceeds go toward scholarships and equipment for the culinary students at KCC.
Annually, the ACF Kauai chapter awards $5,000 in student scholarships and graduation awards.
The breakfast is hosted by the Kauai Community College, the American Culinary Federation, the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Koa Trading Co., Kauai Coffee Co., Kauai Springs, Meadow Gold, and HFM Foodservice.
