Justice Toguchi said she’s going to the American Culinary Federation Breakfast this coming Sunday, but not to work.
Marty Amaro, on the ACF board, was on hand Saturday selling tickets to the “biggest brunch on Kauai,” at the Kauai Community Market at the Kauai Community College where Justice (ask her about her hydroponic onion) headed up the Hoouluwehi table with lettuce and honey.
Alan Van Zee of Hawaiian Island Juice is beyond Valentine’s Day (John McClure had some Kauai-grown and made chocolate hearts) with his Green Me Up drink — he’s ready for St. Patrick’s Day! Judy Capertina had a batch of her pretzels made from spent grain and micro-brew beer from the Kauai Beer Co. Ross Kleinberg (he had his harmonica in the truck) suggested checking out Chris Kauwe who happens to have a special hot mustard.
Congratulations to Elvrine Chow of Heavenly Haku who said she’s heading to Chicago at the end of the month to represent the visitor industry along with the breadfruit guy and other people from Maui.
