LIHUE — A special police unit apprehended a wanted fugitive after using a Taser him in Kapaa Friday. A county news release reports that Kauai Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested wanted fugitive Isaac Josiah shortly before 11 a.m.
LIHUE — A special police unit apprehended a wanted fugitive after using a Taser him in Kapaa Friday.
A county news release reports that Kauai Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested wanted fugitive Isaac Josiah shortly before 11 a.m. at his home on Crossley Road.
Police located Josiah, 30, at his residence and as they approached the suspect a struggle ensued, according to police dispatch. Josiah was apprehended but medics were called to check his condition after a Taser was used.
Josiah was convicted of felony gun and drug charges in April 2012. He was wanted on a no-bail warrant.
The county reported that officers discovered Josiah was in possession of firearms, which will likely result in additional charges. He is being held at KPD cellblock on a no-bail warrant pending an initial appearance in district court.
F.A.S.T. is a special mission unit that is assigned to capture wanted individuals that are considered to be a threat to the community.
