NAWILIWILI — The Koloa Landing Resort & Spa team of Lance Shenk, Matthew Kleefisch, Morida Daroda and Tim Mira finished 9th to top the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association, Kauai Chapter golf tournament at the Kauai Lagoons Golf Club.
More than 30 teams participated in the annual tournament, which served to announce the 2013 Visitor Industry Charity Walk for Kauai.
David Sosner, general manager of the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort, fills the chair position for this year’s walk, said Denise Wardlow, general manager for the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas. This year’s goal for Kauai is $222,000.
Sandi Kato-Klutke, an HLTA member, said in addition to helping launch the annual walk scheduled for May 17 on Kauai, the golf tournament presented $2,000 to the American Culinary Federation.
Golfers were treated to a variety of special contests throughout the course, including a Men’s Long Drive, won by Leroy Singerland.
Leanne Kamekona, chef at the St. Regis Princeville Resort, took the Women’s Long Drive.
“Five” was the lucky number for Erwin Ramos who captured the KP Mauka No. 5, and the KP Moana No. 5.
Kirk Pierpoint took the KP Mauka No. 8, and Walter Steingart took the KP Moana No. 8.
The Kauai Lagoons team of Celeste You, Chris Fujikado, Kirk Pierpoint, and Eddie Iloreta finished first in the tournament.
The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas team of Marc Bennor, Jason Sessions, Cassidy Lopez, and Mitch Rozwat finished second, followed by the Pernod-Ricard Team of Justin Yoshino, Harry Yoshino, Marinel Brual and John Lee ending in third place.
