HONOLULU — The Hawaii Meth Project announced its 2014 Board of Directors to lead the statewide prevention program aimed at reducing methamphetamine use through service, policy and outreach.
The new board members include Lori Abe of The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii; Powell Berger, entrepreneur and former lobbyist; Pearl Imada Iboshi, a director of research at the University of Hawaii; State Rep. Chris Lee; and John Strandberg of Pacific Business News. The announcement said that each member brings specific skills to help set strategic goals, budgets and the mission.
“We are proud to introduce our exceptional 2014 board,” said Hawaii Meth Project’s executive director, David Earles. “Our board members are true experts in their fields, representing various industries and specialties.”
Returning board members include founding chairman Mark de Reus; Michael Spalding, a Realtor; and Stephen Pasierb of Drugfree.org. Strandberg and de Reus will serve as co-chairs for 2014. Abe will serve as treasurer and Spalding will serve as secretary.
