Kudos to Emily Miller, Helen Turner, Connie and Major Inch who opened the Pastel, Oil, Watercolor (POW for short) show Monday at the Kukui Grove Center.
Emily (did you know she designed the Kauai Grown logo?) said she just put the finishing strokes on the Lion Dance Sunday.
Kathy Kovala (she did the Easter event last year) and her husband were there to check out the event, and Carol Ann Davis was there without her camera.
The artists are there through Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and as Emily says, “It’s about the stories.”
Kudos to Annaleigh Atkinson and the Martin Luther King Day celebration committee on a great event Monday! Sarah Blane had her children learning to give by stopping to visit Kelvin Moniz at the KIFB table, and then off to Celia Melchor-Questin and the RSVP people with hygienic products for veterans. Marilyn Mohler did a special run at Costco for the same reason, getting help from Zekiah Hunt and his mom Alisha.
