Happy birthday to Kelson Andrade who celebrated his birthday Saturday and was carried aloft by his Kauai High School basketball team following their win over Waimea.
Mahalo to Duke Yadao’s mom and Kauai coach Ipo Yoshioka for the invitation to the post-game paina which had a lot of dessert (did they know it was Kelson’s birthday?).
C.J. Kahepuu was happy he took his matches at the opening of the KIF wrestling matches in Waimea (mahalo to Coach Mac Pigott, KIF wrestling director, for the results).
Hats off to Judge Bill Fernandez, Mary Requilman, Donna Stewart, Bernie Sakoda, Alan Hiranaka and all those who had a hand in the successful Okinawan festival which launched the Aloha Festivals of Cultures celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Kauai Historical Society.
Michael Teruya was having a blast photographing all those Okinawan dances, and Brian Yamamoto definitely had to be there along with Mayor Bernard and Regina Carvalho.
