Lawai man airlifted from beach

HANAPEPE — A 26-year-old Lawai man was airlifted from Camp One Bay in Hanapepe Saturday morning after sustaining non life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital for treatment. A fisherman found the victim lying on the rocks

HANAPEPE — A 26-year-old Lawai man was airlifted from Camp One Bay in Hanapepe Saturday morning after sustaining non life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A fisherman found the victim lying on the rocks at approximately 7:40 a.m. and contacted authorities. He reported that the victim told him that he fell onto the rocks from the parking lot above on Friday night and tried to get up, but his injuries prevented him from doing so.

Engine 6 and Air-1 with Rescue 3 aboard responded to the call.
