Storme Aerison, 49, Colorado Springs, was attempting to check out of the Kauai Marriott Resort with a stolen credit card when she was identified and arrested. Following her arrest, police recovered additional stolen credit cards from her belongings.
Aerison was charged with a combination of felonies and misdemeanors, including two counts of credit card theft, two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, second-degree attempted identity theft, third-degree identity theft, attempted second-degree theft, and third-degree theft. She is being held in police custody in lieu of $50,000 bail.
According to police, Aerison is no stranger to the criminal justice system. She has numerous convictions in Colorado and other states for charges relating to fraud and theft.
Born Charles J. Daugherty, Aerison legally changed her name to Storme Shannon Aerison, but has been known to use several aliases, such as James Daugherty, Shannon Daugherty, and Teri Anderson.
Police report that Aerison once used the false name Kimber Ireland, in an attempt to pass herself off as a half-sister of former supermodel Kathy Ireland.
“I am pleased that our officers were able to detain this individual before she could continue her history of criminal activity here on Kauai,” stated Ale Quibilan, assistant chief of the Patrol Services Bureau. “We are grateful for the support of the Kauai Marriott staff and continued partnership with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney in helping us to keep our community safe.”
