Amby Cruz
Amby Cruz of Omao, Kauai. Passed away on January 1, 2014 at his home at the age of 88. Born on December 7, 1925 in San Ildefonso, Iloco Sur, Philippines. He was a retired Mechanic with Lihue Plantation.
Preceded in death by his wife Consuelo “Connie” (Bali) Cruz and his parents, Pedro and Emiliana (Remular) Dela Cruz; Gregorio and Juliana (Agmata) Bali, Buddy Bali, David Bali, Virginia “Virgie” Bali and Joe Hernando, Martha Raguindin, Juaning Raguindin.
He is survived by his four children, Amby Gregory Cruz; Anthony (Edelwisa) Cruz; Adela (Alex) Padasdao, Arnold (Genevieve) Cruz. Seven grandchildren, Tiffany Bernades, Bryson Bernades, Annie Padasdao, Austin Cruz, Alisa Padasdao, Andrew Cruz, A.J. Padasdao and two great-grandchildren, Kairus Pedro and Nathan Bennor, also survived by in-laws, Rosita “Rose” (Jaime) Baloran, Peggy Bali, Natividad “Natty” Bali, numerous uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday January 18, 2014 at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 8:00 am to 9:45 am. Where mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Francisco Laborte of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 13, 2014 at the age of 79. Born on March 29, 1934 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was a retired landscaper with Paradise Ground Care.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Julia R. Laborte; parents, Nicholas & Cornelia Laborte; sister, Loreta Laborte Buligan; and brothers-in-law, Gaudioso Glovasa and Solpicio Ofamin.
He is survived by his three sons, Edgardo (Grace) Laborte, Carlito Laborte, and Ruel (Genevieve Mata) Laborte, all of Kapaa; four daughters, Alberta (Pepito) Laborte Damiles of Philippines, Lolita (Apolinario) Laborte Cain of Philippines, Flordeliza (Ernie Tomacder) Laborte of Puhi, and Concepcion (Resty Dolino) Laborte of Kapaa; two brothers, Pablo (Rafaela) Laborte of Lawai, and Joel (Myrna) Laborte of Kaumakani; brother-in-law, Ereneo Buligan of Philippines; five sisters, Grace Laborte Glovasa of Kapaa, Solidad Laborte Ofamin of Kapaa, Fely Laborte Gelbolingo of Eleele, Quirina (Ursino) Laborte Pilongo of Anahola, and Certeria (Edgar) Laborte Vicoy of Anahola; thirty-eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 23, 2014, 9:00 am at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapaa, Mass at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Kapaa Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcome.

Lee Imai Kalani “Harvy” Haumea-Seramur was born on April 5, 1982, passed away on December 13, 2013 in Capo Beach California.
He is survived by his grandmother “Lady” Eleanor K. Haumea and late husband John Haumea Sr., mother Johnnette K. Haumea and father “Big Al” Alan F. Seramur of Wainiha. 8 siblings. Daimond Kaimana Kuhaulua and Chai Kuhaulua of Anahola; John Keoni Haumea and Misty Haumea of Capistrano, CA., Tristian Makana Haumea and Mele Mahuiki of Kilauea; Sena Maile Marie Haumea-Seramur of Wainiha; Kylan Kapena Haumea-Seramur and Kanoe Sakihama of Kapaa; Racy Ann Makena Haumea-Seramur and Ainsley Galeon of Kona; Alan Michael Haumea-Seramur of Wainiha; Shealyn K. Haumea-Seramur of Capistrano, CA., Nieces and nephews Tayanie K. Kuhaulua, Kaena I. Kuhaulua, Noeau H. Kuhaulua of Anahola; Taylor P. Haumea, Rebekah W. Haumea and Jorjiana M. Haumea of Capistrano, CA.; Kameron Sakihama-Haumea of Kapaa and Rayson M. Galeon of Kona. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Waipa Beach from 9 am to 11 am followed by lunch.
Martin Quigley, Jr.
Martin John Quigley, Jr. of Lawai, Kauai, passed away at home on January 12, 2014 at the age of 75. Born in Washington DC, he was a retired realtor and security guard.
He is survived by his daughters, Ellen (Roger) Q.S. Walraven of Lawai, HI and Suzanne (Michael) Wheeler of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Laura Walraven of Wailua, HI, Max (Karen) Walraven of Richmond, VA, Elektra Walraven of Mandeville, LA, and Bryce & Ryan Wheeler of Atlanta, GA; and five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Dela Cruz of Wailua, HI, Sydney & Lola Walraven of Richmond, VA, and Blaise & India Gremillion of Mandeville, LA.
A Celebration of life will be held at a future date. His family wishes to thank Kauai Hospice and any donation should be sent to Kauai Hospice.

Cora Kadota
Cora Kaya Kadota of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 12, 2014, at the age of 89. She lived in Kapaa for the last 25 years, pursuing a spectrum of volunteer activities.
She is survived by her husband Clifton; siblings, Terry & Bill; children, Linda & Richard and grandchildren; Annie & Paul.
Donations are suggested to Cora’s Church, Kapaa United Church of Christ.
