One of the first structures that will be worked on is the comfort station located next to the lifeguard tower. All other comfort stations at the park are also slated for refurbishment over the next few months. While each comfort station is under construction, portable toilets will be provided for the public’s use, including one that is ADA accessible.
Pacific Blue Construction will also demolish and reconstruct the pavilion next to the Kamalani Playground, restore four small pavilions and reconstruct of three pavilions to replace the ones taken down.
The parks initiative is one of 38 projects that are part of the mayor’s Holo Holo 2020 vision for Kauai.
