Koloa Rum appoints Hafdal
Koloa Rum Company announced the appointment of Edie Hafdahl to the position of Western regional brand manager. She will be responsible for the company’s sales, marketing, and promotional initiatives in the Western United States and Canada.
From her base in Northern California, Hafdahl will work with existing distribution partners and seek new sales and distribution opportunities for the company’s expanding portfolio of premium Hawaiian spirits in the region.
Hafdahl has worked with Hyatt hotels and resorts throughout Hawaii, California and Colorado. She served as senior director of sales with the Kauai Visitors Bureau and recently as clubhouse manager of The Club at Kukuiula in Poipu.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with an authentic, premium, Hawaiian-made brand that has such significant growth potential,” she said. Koloa Rum Company produces premium, artisanal, single-batch Hawaiian Rum at its distillery in Kalaheo and operates Hawaii’s first distilled spirits Tasting Room & Company Store on the grounds of Kilohana Plantation near Lihue.
Bower to lead Family Dental Centers
HONOLULU — Hawaii Family Dental Centers announced the appointment of John Bower as its new president of operations.
Bower brings over 20 years of business experience to his new role. Bower replaces Tim Mobley, who joined the company as president of operations in 2005.
Since 1986, Hawaii Family Dental Centers has been serving Hawaii with 10 existing dental centers across Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. It is the largest group dental practice serving the state of Hawaii.
Central Pacific Bank donates $25K
HONOLULU — Central Pacific Bank has donated $25,000 to Aloha for Philippines to help with relief efforts to help repair the destruction and devastation left by Typhoon Haiyan.
“What the people of Hawaii have done to help has been tremendous and we are very happy to be a part of this effort.” said John Dean, president & CEO of Central Pacific Bank.
The monies will go to support the relief efforts of Filipino Community Center and American Red Cross, including helping with immediate recovery needs, rebuilding communities, and restoring quality of life to affected families.
Recruitment meeting slated for Jan. 14
A Kauai Medical Relief Corp training and volunteer recruitment meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church, 4-1325 Kuhio Highway.
It is free.
The corp is recruiting and training new volunteers to join its emergency response teams that serve Kauai in a variety of community services, including disaster relief.
