Van Augusto
Van Allan Augusto, died on December 22, 2013, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, Lihue, HI at the age of 62. He was born in Lihue on December 5, 1951 and was a graduate of Kapaa High School. He was an Army Veteran and worked at Roberts Hawaii for over 25 years.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 11, 2014 Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m at the Lihue Lutheran Church. Service will begin at 10 to 10:30 a.m.

Loreto Anacleto Sr.
Loreto B. Anacleto Sr. of Koloa, Kauai passed away on Dec. 8, 2013, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Born on May 27, 1936, in the Philippines he was a Retired Maintenance man.
Preceded in death by his daughters Teresa Anacleto and Luceda Anacleto. He is survived by his wife Segunda “Seggie” Borja Anacleto; Daughter: Lorna (Donny) Belong; 5) Sons: JoJo (Marites) Anacleto; Jess Anacleto; Jeffrey (Rebecca) Anacleto; Keenan Anacleto; Kal Anacleto; 9) Grandchildren ; Ryan, Jonathan, Kathy, Krystal, Karen, Casey, Jacob, Malia and Makana; 3) Great grandchildren; TG, Zedakai, AJ; 2) Sisters: Emerenciana Igarta; Natalia Mendoza; 2) Brothers: Florencio Anacleto; Andres Anacleto, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Raphaels Church Cemetery in Koloa.

Peter J. Gonsalves Jr.
Peter J. Gonsalves Jr. of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Dec. 28, 2013, at the age of 77. He was born in Kealia, Kauai on Jan. 19, 1936 and retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter Gonsalves Sr. and mother Jennie Ferreira; brothers, Douglas and Jimmy; sisters, Mary Jane Hanson and Laverne Hamilton and son Clayton Gonsalves.
He is survived by his wife Mona, sons, Peter III and Serphine; daughters, Doris (David) Gregg, Tracy Bramlett, Debi Watson; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert, Tommy and Eddie; sister, Puanani Guajardo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Monday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Masao Heyada
Masao Heyada formerly of Kauai, Hawaii-born Nisei resident of Simi Valley passed away on Dec. 9, 2013, at the age of 92.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hiroko Heyada; daughter, Allison Heyada; brother, Mitsuo Heyada and numerous relatives.
Private service were held. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations instead to be made in the name of Masao Heyada to either the American Heart Association (800) 242-8721 or to the American Diabetes Association 342-2383.
Douglas Oride
Douglas Oride of Hanapepe Heights passed away on Dec. 29, 2013, at Garden Isle Health Care at the age of 62. Born on June 3, 1951, in Lihue, HI, he was employed at Food Pantry Ltd.
Preceded in death by his father, Edward Oride. He is survived by his mother, Mary Oride; brother, Leighton (Debbie) Oride of Lihue; niece Kimberly Oride and nephew Ryan Oride, both of Lihue; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Private Services will be held at a later date.

Avelina Pablo
Avelina Llacuna Pablo of Hanapepe, Kauai, passed away on Dec. 22, 2013, at Kauai Care Center at the age of 88. Born on Jan. 8, 1925, in Makaweli, she was a pantry attendant at Sheraton Kauai.
Preceded in death by her husband Sagucio Pablo. She is survived by her sons, Marvin (Victoria) Pablo of Eleele, and Roland (Patricia) D. Pablo of Waimea; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel at 9 a.m. Friends may visit with the family from 8 to 9 a.m. Casual attire and please omit flowers.

Big John Kauo
Big John Pakahea Kauo of Kapaa passed away at home on Dec. 29, 2013, at the age of 80. He was born in Anahola on Dec. 13, 1933, a musician and a martial arts instructor he retired as manager of Coco Palms Hotel after 33 years.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Victorino Kauo; brother, Joseph “Butch” Kauo II and sister, Lorna “Sweetheart” Kauo.
He is survived by his daughter, Maile (Porfino) Kauo Vazquez Lagunes; sister, Lynette “Darling” Fernandez, Lenore “Sweetie” Javellana; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Kapaa with visitation from 8:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m.

Edward Blake
Edward Kealoha Blake, 83, of Hilo passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 16, 1930. He retired from Paradise Supply as a Technical Manager.
He was predeceased by his parents Archibald William Charles Blake and Marie Ka’ili- Blake; son Barney N. Blake of Honolulu and his sister Ruth Kinimaka of Honolulu.
He is survived by his companion Mary Blake of Maui; two daughters, Lehua (Gabriel) Ornellas of Kauai and Edrian (Brad) Blake- Spencer of Washington; three brothers, William (Lana) Blake of Maui, Archie (Alexianne) Blake of Kamuela and Daniel (Cheryl) Blake of California; and three sisters, Paula (John) Castillo Sr. of Waimanalo, Esther (Herman) Ching of Honolulu and Josephine Lauas of California; three grandchildren, Garett (Kimberly) Randall of Seattle, Cameron Yip of Maui and Jasmine (Kanoa) Ortogero of Honolulu; great-grandchildren, Zayden Randall of Seattle, Jamison Randall of Seattle and Ka’onaokaleiola Ortogero of Honolulu.
Memorial services will be held at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), Honolulu, on Monday, January 6, 2014. Service starts at 8:30 a.m.
