Mahalo to Steve Kline and Jocelyn Barriga (she’s got the Special Olympics Polar Plunge coming up) for the hospitality Monday at the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital when Heather Phelps and the Healing Horses Kauai ohana of miniature horses went to visit.
As Heather said, all animals have therapeutic value, but these horses were amazing as Rufino Taroma (Jocelyn said he makes veggie starters for sale to the hospital associates) became riveted to one of the horse’s tethers.
Sandi Nadatani-Mendez and her family (Kathleen Cadiente was busy checking out) were shopping at Walmart, New Year’s Day and already knew Keeva Annette Hiileimaikalani Celebrado was the New Year’s baby.
Sandi (she’s a good basketball coach, too) will be checking out Marcus Brown during the Saturday soccer games and Kathleen has a big girls’ basketball game Friday night against Waimea at the Kauai High School gym.
