ANAHOLA — Kauai Police Department report that two people were injured in a crash on Kuhio Highway in Anahola Wednesday.
The incident took place near the Hokualele Road junction about 2:40 p.m. when a motorcycle, heading south, rear-ended a Nissan sedan.
The motorcycle’s male operator, 51, and his 41-year-old female passenger were transported to Wilcox Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The male and female occupants in the sedan did not report injuries.
Police directed two-way traffic flow on Kuhio Highway from 2:40 p.m. until roughly 3:15 p.m. The highway was then closed in both directions shortly before 5 p.m. to allow officers to investigate the crash. All lanes were reopened about 5:45 p.m.
