LIHUE — Renae Hamilton, director of the YWCA of Kauai, and her staff received a pleasant visit Monday.
Annette Wong of the StarWish Foundation was joined by Brent Lausterer, Sheraton Kauai Resort’s director of sales and marketing, in presenting the YWCA with a check for $2,300.
The total represents proceeds from the Sheraton Kauai’s “You Dine, We Donate” program for November, where proceeds from Table 53 inside the RumFire restaurant are earmarked for a nonprofit for the month.
“With a new year on the horizon, RumFire Poipu Beach renews its commitment to supporting local charities through its ‘You Dine, We Donate’ program,” said June Cappiello, Sheraton Kauai’s public relations manager.
She said RumFire will contribute the January net proceeds for all food and beverages at its sunset view Table 53 to the American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter, to benefit Typhoon Haiyan disaster relief efforts in the Philippines.
Since the start of the “You Dine, We Donate” program in October 2012, it has raised more than $50,000 for Kauai charities.
