It wasn’t Gerald Nakashima’s birthday, but he was still hard at work Sunday at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School media class’s benefit breakfast (Stephen Fujii said it’s not a pancake breakfast because they don’t have pancakes).
Gerald was joined by Chuck Brady of the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club said the event was high energy.
Michael Tresler came out to wipe up drippings on the floor. Dean and Linda Okayama, coming off the Kauai High School boys’ soccer game against Mililani, were also busy, Dean doing dishes and Linda helping at the bake sale.
Kevin Matsunaga said ticket sales for the breakfast were off by about 500 plates, but the craft fair from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday is already sold out for vendors.
Jason Fujinaka of FM97 (the CKMS kids do the “Scoop” on air) had to get up early to serve as emcee, but was getting overpowered by divas Lindsey Tresler and Marlena Lang.
