Byron Hahn-Morin
Byron Hahn-Morin of Waimea passed away on Nov. 13, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 21. Born on Dec. 5, 1991 in Lihue, Kauai, he was a Cook at Red Salt at Koakea Resort.
He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth Hahn and Ronald Morin; brothers, Aaron Habermann of Poipu and Steven Hahn-Morin of Rockland, CA; sister, Michele (Jason) Ray of Portland, OR; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life for Byron Hahn-Morin will be held on Dec. 8, 2013 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. Casual attire. For further info, please call Liz Hahn at 482-0133.

Anthony Baptiste Sr.
Anthony Baptiste Sr. of Casper, Wyoming passed away on Nov. 8, 2013 at the age of 52. Born on May 19, 1961 in Lihue.
Preceded in death by his parents Richard and Marian Baptiste Sr., and sister Darlene Ruiz. He is survived by his brother Richard Baptiste Jr., Rodney Baptist; and children Alana Baptiste, Angelica Baptiste, Anthony Jr. Baptiste, Candace Baptiste, Ashley Baptiste, Aaliyah Baptiste and his girlfriend Jennifer and 8 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Dec. 7, 2013 at the Holy Cross Church, Kalaheo from 9 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Juanita Labuguen
Juanita “Aning” Pascua Lagazo Labuguen of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on November 22, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. She was born on May 16, 1928 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She retired from Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital as RN Supervisor. She also works as an OB/GYN Nurse at Wilcox Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Honorata Dumlao and Fulegencio Lagazo; Parents, Vito and Benita Lagazo; Husband, Flor Malapira Labuguen; Sister, Feliza Gloria Lagazo Tagavilla.
She is survived by her sons; Moises Jude Labuguen, Bennett (Ernelle) Victor Labuguen, Florante John Labuguen. 5 Grand children; Aaron Labuguen, Janessa Labuguen, Chaslynn Labuguen, Alex Yasay, Bryson Labuguen. 3 Great grand children; Duke Labuguen, Ha’ako Labuguen, and Crystal Yasay. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Dec. 14, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church, Lihue, Visitation starts at 8 to 9 am. Service starts at 9 am. Mass to be celebrated at 10 am. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe.

Miguel Constantino
Miguel G. Constantino of Kaumakani passed away on Nov. 27, 2013 at his home at the age of 100 and 6months. Born on May 8, 1913 in Tarlac, Philippines, he was a Machine operator with Olokele Sugar Company.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bernabe and Tuna Constantino; and daughter Felicidad Constantino.
He is survived by his wife, Julita C. Constantino; sons, Agelio (Lolita) Constantino of Kaumakani and Benedicto (Venida) Constantino of Hanapepe; daughter, Rosalina Flores of Las Vegas; twenty grandchildren; sixty great-grandchildren; thirty-six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Dec. 7, 2013 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 11 am, with visitation from 9 to 11 am. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire.

Eremio Cabutaje
Eremio Vergara Cabutaje of Hanamaulu passed away at home on November 27, 2013, at the age of 65. He was born in San Jose, NE, Philippines on September 9, 1948, and worded at Cliffs at Princeville and Wyhndam Hotels as maintenance personal.
He is survived by his wife, Mercedes C. Cabutaje; daughter, Joanne (Roderick)Cabutaje Geronimo; sons, Eddie Cabutaje and Edwin Furomoto, all of Hanamaulu; 3 grandchildren; brother, Ernesto (Juliana) Cabutaje of Kapaa; sisters, Violeta C. (Rosario) Ragasa of Molokai, Lydia (Juanito) Dela Cruz, Felisa (Roberto) DeGuzman, Beatrice Duco all of the Philippines; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Dec. 7, 2013, at St. Catherine Church with viewing from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Sandy Kiilau
Sandy Kikue Piilani Kiilau of Kapaa passed at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on November 27, 2013, at the age of 47. She was born in Lihue, Kauai on May 28, 1966 and was a dedicated homemaker.
She is survived by her long time partner, John Rosario of Kapaa; sons, Mysen Kiilau of Wainiha, Lance “Pua” Kiilau Jr. and Lekoleo Kiilau; daughters, Leimana Kiilau and Malia Kiilau, all of Lihue; 7 grandchildren; numerous siblings, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Kiilau family with arrangements.
Johnny Stark
Johnny Stark of Kekaha passed away on November 10, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Born on July 5, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas, he was a Cashier at Home Depot.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bert Weingand and Geneva Weingand.
He is survived by his son, John Michael Stark of Lake Forrest, CA; three daughters, Deborah Weingand of Laguna Beach, CA, Rhonda Sokulski of Henderson, NV, and Francine Tagle of Ladera Ranch , CA; brother, Bill (Christine) Weingand of Koloa; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Dec. 7, 2013 at the Hanapepe Salvation Army Chapel at 2 pm, with visitation from 1 to 2 pm. Casual attire is suggested and omit flowers.

Masao Shimonishi
Masao Shimonishi of Hanapepe, Kauai passed away on November 26, 2013 at Garden Isle HealthCare at the age of 83. Born on February 19, 1930 in Koloa, Kauai, he was a retired journeyman painter with Shimonishi and Sons.
Proceeded in death by his wife, Nancy Kondo Shimonishi; parents, Masaru and Yuriko Shimonishi; and brother, Harry Shimonishi.
He is survived by his sons, Ross Shimonishi of Lihue, and Ken (Cindy) Shimonishi of Kapaa; daughter, Candace (Antonio) Nadarisay of Kapaa; sisters, Tomoko Miyamoto of Honolulu, Takako Nakamura of Hanapepe, and sister-in-law Janet Shimonishi of Hanapepe; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held at a later date. Please omit koden and flowers.

Dadly Ham Young
Dadly “Bobo” Keakealani Ham Young of Hanalei passed away in Wainiha, Kauai on Nov. 22, 2013, at the age of 61. He was born in Wainiha, Kauai on May 7, 1952, and was a landscaper.
Preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Tai Hook-Pfeffer; father, Richard Ham Young and sister, Keli’i Ham Young.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Ham Young of Hanalei; sons, Makana Ham Young and Ian Ham Young; daughter, Hayley (Santo) Ham Young-Giorgio; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Rick (Denise) Ham Young of Wainiha, Warren (Susan) Ham Young of Princeville, Shaindlin (Kris) Ham Young of Wainiha; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Dec. 8, 2013, at Pinetrees, Hanalei with visitation from 11 a.m. and services celebrated at 1 p.m.

Yukio Takeya, 87, of Hilo, Hawaii, died on November 12, 2013 in Japan. He was born on April 24, 1926, in Wailea, Hawaii. He was the President of Ala Kai Realty, retired USPS mail carrier, retired US Army Major and World War II veteran 442nd RCT.
He is survived by: Son, Edmund (Sun) Takeya of Honolulu, Oahu; Daughter, Leona (Herbert) Chock of Honolulu, Oahu; Brothers, Toshio (Gladys) Takeya of Paauilo, Hawaii; Teruo (Misako) Takeya of San Francisco, California; Tom (Sandra) Takeya of Hilo, Hawaii; Herbert (Janet) Takeya of Kalaheo, Kauai; Kenneth (Judy) Takeya of Honolulu, Oahu, Alan (Donna) Takeya of Hilo, Hawaii; Sister, Gale Takeya of Hilo, Hawaii; Myrtle (Arnold) Hara of Hilo, Hawaii. Alejandro Alesna
Alejandro “Ale” Alesna of Kealia, Kauai, Hawaii. Passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Born on March 13, 1933 at Kumu Kumu Camp, Kealia. He retired from Lihue Plantation as a journeyman painter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melchor and Blasa Alisna, wife, Elizabeth; brothers, Willie and Manuel and sisters, Dora, Pauline and Navis.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Alesna, Kilauea; sons, Andrew (Laureen), Alric (Kuuipo), Alfred (Bree) and daughter, Charlene. Stepsons, Darryl (Kelly) and Christopher Mealey, both of Australia. Brother, Domingo (Lourdes) Alisna, Hanamaulu; sister Beatrice Ancheta and sister-in-law Naomi Emproso. 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Dec. 13, 2013 at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church, Kapaa.
Visitation at 9 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Saint Catherine’s Cemetery, Kapaa. Casual attire is suggested.
