Agnes Blackstad
Agnes Billie “Nana” Blackstad of Lawai, Kauai passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 13, 2013, at the age of 92. Born in Honokaa, Hawaii on March 4, 1921, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alec “Sonny” Blackstad and baby granddaughter, Alisa Blackstad.
She is survived by sons, Michael (Sharon) Blackstad; Ronald (Loretta) Blackstad; Payne “Leo” (Sybil) Blackstad; Gerald “Jack” (Amy) Blackstad; daughters, Alexa (Wayne) Samio; Aleta (Edwin Jr.) Fu; Sister-in-law, Marie Payne; Grandchildren, Michele (Sean) Chong; Bill (Leo) Blackstad; Kevin (Adrianne) Blackstad; Kris Blackstad; Malia (Doug) Freitas; Kaleo (Mariko Imamura) Caires; Brian (Enjo Rapozo-Hoskins) Perreira; Kyle (Wailana) Blackstad; Brydan (Jana) Blackstad; Byron Perreira; Chantel Blackstad, Toni-Ann Samio; Moku (Kahale) Blackstad; Tyron (Tasha Kamanuwai) Samio; Tessa (Jeffrey Silva) Samio and Kekai (Leinaala Ah Yo) Blackstad; 33 great-grandchildren;10 hanai great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel, Koloa. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m. Family requests flowers be omitted.

Maria Asuncion
Maria Caridad Ragasa Asuncion of Las Vegas, NV passed away on November 19, 2013, at Sunrise Hospital at the age of 83. She was born on November 23, 1929 in Sta. Cruz, Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She retired from McBryde Sugar Plantation.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vicente Guzman Asuncion; parents, Catalino and Martina Ragasa; siblings, Pracedes and Lourdes Ragasa, Pedro Ragasa, Fernando (Matia) Ragasa, Santiago (Alejandra) Ragasa, Jose Ragasa, Crispin (Leonila) Ragasa, Rafael (Patrocinio) Ragasa, Rosalina Alquiza.
She is survived by her son, Rolando (Virginia) Asuncion of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Cristina (Rizal) Balgos of Las Vegas, NV, Catalina (Mario) Yago of Las Vegas, NV, Celenia (Winnie) Ruaboro of West Covina, CA, Cynthia (Chato) Iglesia of Las Vegas, NV, Rose (Mario) Dulatre of Lihue, HI. Sister Josefina (Felix) Iloreta of Kapaa, HI; Brother Rosario (Violet) Ragasa of Molokai, HI; Sisters in law, Ellen Ragasa and Esmerna Ragasa of the Philippines. There are 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Palm Mortuary 7600 So. Eastern Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89123 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89110 where mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Palm Mortuary where she will be laid to rest in peace and be with the Lord.
Legacy Cablayan
Legacy “Narcisa” Cablayan of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on November 14, 2013, at the age of 64. She was born in San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on January 2, 1949, and previously worked as a kitchen helper with KEO.
She is survived by her husband, Casimiro Cablayan of the Philippines; son, Brandon (Sheryl) Cablayan of Oregon; mother, Paulino Silverio of Philippines; brother, Inocencio (Lumen) Silverio of Canada; sisters, Emerita (Bayani) Espanol of Saudi Arabia and Flordeliza (Vicente) Redaus of the Philippines; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Thomas Self
Thomas Allen Self of Lihue passed away at home on November 22, 2013 at the age of 62. He was born in Washington on December 27, 1950 and was a self-employed cabinet maker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Alice Self and brother David Self. He is survived by his son Derrick Self and daughter, Stacey (CJ) Larson both of Washington; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Ana) Self of Lihue, Richard (Darci) Self of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rock Ivan LaCro
Rock Ivan LaCro passed away on November 19, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 58. Born on October 14, 1955 in Kauai, he was a Truck Driver/Mechanic with Bekins Van Lines.
He is survived by his son Michael of Honolulu, Oahu; two daughters, Kira of Wailua, Kauai and Casey of Kona, Hawaii; mother Rose Marie “Dolly” Louis-LaCro; six sisters, Donna LaCro of Oahu, Ashlet Stephen Girald of Kauai, Nan LaCro of Kauai, Corvette LaCro Cambra of Oahu, Richlette Elias Corpuz Jr. of Las Vegas, and Lana LaCro of Oahu; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire.

Dadly Ham Young
Dadly “Bobo” Keakealani Ham Young of Hanalei passed away in Wainiha, Kauai on November 22, 2013, at the age of 61. He was born in Wainiha, Kauai on May 7, 1952, and was a landscaper.
Preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Tai Hook-Pfeffer; father, Richard Ham Young and sister, Keli’i Ham Young.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Ham Young of Hanalei; sons, Makana Ham Young and Ian Ham Young; daughter, Hayley (Santo) Ham Young-Giorgio; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Rick (Denise) Ham Young of Wainiha, Warren (Susan) Ham Young of Princeville, Shaindlin (Kris) Ham Young of Wainiha; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at Pinetrees, Hanalei with visitation from 11:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 1:00 p.m.

Seiso Kaneshiro
Seiso Kaneshiro of Kalaheo, Kauai, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at The Regency at Puakea at the age of 92. Born on April 26, 1921 in Koloa, Kauai, he was a hog farmer and restaurant owner with Kaneshiro Farm & Kane’s Plaza.
He is survived by his sons, Earl (Grace) Kaneshiro and Arnold Kaneshiro, both of Kalaheo; daughter, Norma English of Pearl City, Oahu; brothers, Sugar (Dorothy) Kaneshiro of Omao, Mamoru “Mamo” (Joen) Kaneshiro of Omao, and James (Esther) Kaneshiro of Honolulu; sister, Yoneko “Yone” Gushiken of Honolulu; three grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Koloa Missionary Church from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, service will begin at 3:00. The family suggests Aloha attire and requests to omit flowers and memorial tributes.

Pelagia “Masing” Llego Suetos of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on November 20, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on November 20, 2013 at the age of 77. Born on December 6, 1935 in Umingan, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was a kitchen helper at Samuel Mahelona Hospital.
She is preceeded in death by: Husband, Bernardino Suetos, Sr.; parents, Emilio & Cresenciana Llego, Emilio & Cresenciana Llego. She is survived by: Daughters, Adele (Max) Manera, Lihue; Patty (Mark) Dela Cruz, Oahu; Son, Emil Suetos, Las Vegas; Sisters, Finalrin Andres, San Diego; Jane (Jimmy) Udaundo, Kapaa; Esther (Romulo) Dacuycuy, Kapaa; Brothers, Romualdo (Carmen) Llego, Kapaa; Hilario (Teodora) Llego, Kapaa; Lodevico (Rebecca) Llego, Kapaa; Elpidio (May) Llego. Alaska; Josue (Susan) Llego, Kapaa; 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Life will be held on December 19, 2013, at Lihue United Church. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Kalapaki Bay Cemetery, Lihue. Casual attire is suggested.

Anthony Baptiste Sr. of Casper, Wyoming passed away on November 8, 2013 at the age of 52. Born on May 19, 1961 in Lihue.
Preceded in death by his parents Richard & Marian Baptiste Sr., and sister Darlene Ruiz. He is survived by his brother Richard Baptiste Jr., Rodney Baptist; and children Alana Baptiste, Angelica Baptiste, Anthony Jr. Baptiste, Candace Baptiste, Ashley Baptiste, Aaliyah Baptiste and his girlfriend Jennifer and 8 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Holy Cross Church, Kalaheo from 9 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
