NAWILIWILI — Steve Yannarell was celebrating his final day as the general manager of the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club Tuesday and Marc Walz of the Kauai Marriott was celebrating his birthday.
They were joined by representatives of all the Marriott properties on Kauai in delivering the results of its Marriott Ohana Holiday Food Drive to the Kauai Independent Food Bank in Nawiliwili.
They donated 11,552 pounds of food, which will be added to the KIFB Holiday Food and Fund Drive, said Kelvin Moniz, interim director.
Chuck Brady, Marriott Human Resources manager, said this is the seventh year Marriott has been doing the holiday food collection.
“This was a banner year for the Marriott Ohana Holiday Food Drive,” Moniz said.
The food bank’s goal is 40,000 pounds of food and $40,000 in funds.
“We still have a ways to go,” Moniz said.
The Holiday Food and Fund drive continues through Dec. 31.
