LIHUE — Joe Duronslet of Wailua said if they get one, it was worth the wait Thursday at the Kukui Grove Center.
Duronslet was one of three boys waiting outside the GameStop store at the mall for the release of the Microsoft XBox One system.
“They said they only had five to release,” Duronslet said. “We got here at 6 a.m. and are waiting until 6 p.m. to place our order. After that, we need to wait until midnight to grab the XBox.”
He said waiting in line did not guarantee they each would get a unit, although each of the boys, Roy Yamashita of Lihue, and Daylin Huni of Lihue, wanted one of their own.
“The XBox is better than the Playstation,” Duronslet said. “It’s an all-in-one system — a video game console, computer, and TV. I don’t know if they had a line here when the Playstation was released.”
XBox One delivers an all-new gaming and entertainment experience which will transform how people play, claims its website. It brings together the best games, service and entertainment all-in-one system built for today and tomorrow.
“You can talk to it,” Duronslet said. “You can access all the different things it can do, seamlessly. This is the way of the future, it’s a computer in a console.”
Microsoft’s latest game console arrives in North America and Europe Friday.
