KEKAHA — Syngenta has donated $100,000 to the International Committee of the Red Cross and is also matching any donations made by Syngenta employees dollar for dollar,.
“Our colleagues across North America have been shocked and saddened by the events of the past week as Typhoon Haiyan impacted more than 10 million people in the Philippines,” said Mark Phillipson, spokesman for Syngenta Hawaii.
“While we are all neighbors on this planet, we realize that many of us here in Hawaii have friends and family in the Philippines who may have been directly affected by this crisis.”
In addition to this global donation initiative, the Syngenta ASEAN team has set aside funds to support employees and their families affected by the storm.
At the Syngenta sites in the Philippines, urgently needed supplies like food and clothing are being collected.
In the longer term, Syngenta will be exploring projects that support the rebuilding of agricultural areas and recovery of rural communities.
