Waimea High School girls volleyball will open its bid for the title of the New City Nissan Hawaii High School Athletic Association Girls Volleyball State Championships – Division II on Tuesday.
The Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions are unseeded in the Division II state tournament and will face Pahoa of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation in a match at 7 p.m. at McKinley High School in Honolulu.
Top seed for Division II goes to University High School, the HHSAA announced Saturday.
The No. 2 seed is Seabury Hall of Maui, who became the first Division II champions in the Honolulu Marathon HHSAA state cross country championships on Friday.
The No. 3 seed is Hawaii Preparatory Academy and Radford gets the No. 4 seed and will face the winner of the Waimea/Pahoa matchup starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at McKinley High School.
Other teams participating in Division II girls volleyball include Konawaena of the BIIF, Hana of the Maui Interscholastic League, Kalaheo, St. Francis, Hawaii Baptist, and Roosevelt.
Top seed in Division I is Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama followed by Mililani as the No. 2 seed, Kamehameha Schools-Big Island as the No. 3 seed and Kamehameha Schools-Maui as the No. 4 seed.
Championships for the Division II is at 7 p.m. on Friday at McKinley. Championships for the Division I is at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama.
