NAWILIWILI — Friday is the final day people are able to visit the Hokulea, the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s sailing canoe, at the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor.
Kanana Kuhaulua, the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s lead during the Kauai visit, said the mornings are reserved for the free school visits from 9 a.m. to noon, and the public is invited to view the canoe from 1 to 4 p.m., based on crew availability. Since arriving on Kauai, Sept. 1 on the Malama Hawaii leg of Malama Honua, the Worldwide Journey, Kuhaulua said Hokulea will have hosted more than 1,500 of Kauai’s school children during the free field trips which have been booked solid through Friday. Visit www.hokulea.org for more information.
