James Cummings Jr.
James D. Cummings Jr. of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Aug. 28, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. He was born on March 22, 1942 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was an Electronic Technician for P.M.R.F. for 41 years. He was in the United States Air Force.
He is preceded in death by parents, James and Myrtle Cummings; brother, David Cummings.
He was survived by wife, Diana Cummings, Hanapepe; daughters, Selina (Donald) Smith, Florida; Stephanie Machado, Kapaa; sons, Wayne (Mary) Knight, Lawai; Glenn (Crystal) Kelly, North Carolina; Michael Knight, Hanapepe; Bradley Cummings, Hanapepe; sister, Diane Couzens, Georgia; brother, Rick (Scarlette Delbridge) Cummings, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kalaheo. Visitation at 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Irene C. Fontanilla
Irene C. Fontanilla of Kaumakani passed away on Aug. 20, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 76. Born on April 4, 1937 in Ilocos Sur Philippines, she was a retired Cook with Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Preceded in death by her husband, Marcelo Fontanilla; and parents, Benny and Hilaria Caberto.
She is survived by her son, Marcy Fontanilla of Kaumakani; daughters, Emily Fontanilla of Kaumakani, and Lani (Matt) Taeza of Waimea; brother, Michael (Annalyn) Caberto of Kaumakani; sister, Pauline Cachero of Kaumakani; three grandchildren, Kiana (Devin Parado) Fontanilla of Oahu, and Bailee and Keoua Taeza of Waimea; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

William ‘Billy’ Terheggen
William “Billy” Terheggen was born on April 22, 1951 in California. He passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2013 at the age 62 with his family and dogs by his side! He worked for Grove Farm Museum for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leona Morino; father, Paul Terheggen, step-mother, Marie Terheggen.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Terheggen; daughters, Shannon (William) Kaneholani of Anahola and Erin (Nathan) Terheggen-Hayes of Kalaheo; grandsons, Austin Kaneholani and McKenna Kaneholani; granddaughters; Haley Kaneholani; Emma Terheggen-Hayes and Elouise Terheggen-Hayes; brothers, Paul “Jibber” (Laura) Terheggen of Texas; Kenny Terheggen (Kathy Schmidt) of Wailua; step-brother, Jimmy Laber of Washington; step-sister, Carla Laber-Gras of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
The service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Church and visitation with family will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Eulogy at 10:45 a.m, Memorial at 11 a.m. and burial to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery overlooking Kealia. A Celebration of Life to follow at the big Pavilion at Lydgate Beach Park.

Rev. Mel Campos
The Rev. Mel Campos of Boiling Springs, N.C. passed away on June 28, 2013 at Hospice at Wendover at the age of 64. He was born on November 16, 1948 in Waimea, Kauai, he was an Associate Pastor of Crestview Baptist Church of Shelby, N.C.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Campos; daughters, MeLani Campos and Mindy Campos, both of Wilmington, N.C.; grandson Izaiah Campos of Wilmington, N.C.; mother Dolores Campos of Waimea Kauai; brothers, Ernest Campos of Gardena, CA, Prudencio (Evangeline) Campos of Makakilo, HI, and Ron Campos of Waimea, Kauai; his sister Stella (Kelly) Shimatsu of Kalaheo, Kauai and sister-in-law Gail Thornton of Boiling Springs, N.C.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at Ele’ele Baptist Church at 9 a.m. Service will begin at 10 a.m. Family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
Private inurnment.

Leslie Kubo
Leslie Levi Sueo Kubo of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Aug. 24, 2013 at the age of 77 at Straub Hospital, Honolulu, Oahu. He was born on Sept. 28, 1935 in Kealia, Kauai. He worked for Kauai Police Department and retired from the prosecutor’s office.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Riichi and Kealoha Kubo; wife, Violet Lee Kubo; son, Sanford Kubo, brothers, William Kato Sr. and James Kubo, sisters, Jane Aki, Alice Fujimori, Hannah Dolick, Hazel Kobayashi, Josephine Eugene and Verna Asui.
He is Survived by his wife, Siebel Sheldon-Kubo, Kapaa; son, Derwin (Jane) Kubo, Illinois; daughters, Donna Lee (Gary) Lloyd, Oahu; Leslie (Francis) Takasaki, Wailua; Duanne Lynn Kubo, Wailua; step sons, Sam (Marianne) Sheldon, Lihue; Kamalu (Irene) Sheldon, Wailua; sisters, Irene (Bernard) Apana, Wailua; Annie Christian, Las Vegas; Grandchildren, Donna-Lee “Lezlee” Kubo (Tommy C.), Duston Ray Kubo (Asha Peahu), Jerrilee Bukoski Largusa (Paka), Kelsi Kubo, Kylie Kubo, Chevas Takasaki, Cody Takasaki, Tia Takasaki, Rosalyn Palmeira Ladera (Mike Ladera), Leila Sheldon (Jason) and Sheana Mata and great grandchildren, Kaiden Ray Kubo, Taeani Largusa and Taeden Largusa; Hanai son, Alson Kanahele (Donna Frye Kanahele).

Gail Sumie Lizama
Gail Sumie Lizama passed away on Aug. 15, 2013 at her home at the age of 62. Born on July 25, 1951 in Lihue Kauai, she was a Receptionist with Kauai Medical Clinic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Lizama Jr, and parents, Chisuka and Sunao Iwamoto.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimi (Ulices) Ramos-Valdovinos of Lihue; sisters, Irene (Claude) Kawabata of Pearl City Oahu; and Marsha (Alan) Haugum of Denver Colorado; and one grandchild, Azteca Ramos-Valdovinos.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Inurnment at a later date.
