Volunteers are needed to work on new homes during the Habitat for Humanity’s Build-A-Thon.
“We are recruiting for volunteers,” said Jessica Clabo, Kauai Habitat for Humanity’s volunteer program coordinator. “The homes in the Anahola build are at the initial start up phase so we will be building from the ground up.”
Space on the volunteer crew for the Build-A-Thon is limited to 20 people so volunteers are encouraged to reserve their spot and register by Sept. 6, Clabo said.
The Habitat for Humanity Association celebrates its 7th annual statewide Build-A-Thon on Sept. 14 with all Hawaii affiliates of Habitat for Humanity participating. Clabo said on Kauai, the Build-A-Thon marks the start of new homes on Hawaiian Homelands and lunch will be provided.
Because the homes will be starting from the ground up, work anticipated for the Build-A-Thon could possibly be construction of the dust fence, post hole digging, cement foundation set up and cement pouring.
