LIHUE — To improve traffic circulation in Lihue, on-street parking on Rice Street fronting the Kauai Museum will be eliminated.
A Public Works crew will be removing the parking spaces on Thursday starting at 8:30 a.m. While the work is being done, the far-right westbound lane by the museum will be closed.
A resolution was passed last month by the County Council at the request of the county engineer authorizing this change as well as the establishment of a crosswalk at the junction of Rice Street and Kele Street by the Post Office.
The crosswalk is tentatively set for installation in September.
