Wallace Masao Sugimura
Wallace Masao Sugimura of Lawai passed away on July 25, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. He is born on April 24, 1932 in Lihue, Kauai. He was a retired self-employed Contractor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. Sugimura; and son, Tait J. Sugimura.
He is survived by his son, Floyd (Ruby) Sugimura of Lawai; daughters, Myra (Michael) Niau of Lawai, Terry (Richard) Woodford of Las Vegas, and Doreen (Alvin) Aquino of Lawai; brother, Richard Sugimura of Kalaheo; sisters, Elaine Sugimura and Karen Matsumoto, both of Kalaheo; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 9 a.m. Service starts at 10 am. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested

Alvin Arnold Aquino of Las Vegas passed away on July 31, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 55. He was born on March 8, 1958 in Honolulu. He was a Maintenance Engineer with California Hotel, Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by stepmom, Phyllis Aquino and sister, Tammy Marie Aquino.
He is survived by his wife, Doreen Aquino; son, Noa Rudy Kaulana Aquino; parents, Don Aquino and Pearl Rimando; brothers, Bobby Rimando of Las Vegas, NV; Ronnie Jensen of Provo, UT and Jerry Slaughter of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Lori Jensen of Richfield, UT and Tammy Hiromoto of Oakville, CA; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Generosa Rivera Aguinaldo of Kaumakani, Kauai, Hawaii passed away at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home on July 26, 2013 at the age of 103. She is born on January 15, 1910 in the Philippines. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by mother, Engracia Rivera; husband, Juan Aguinaldo; daughters, Martina Aguinaldo and Mercela Aguinaldo.
She is survived by sons, Amado Aguinaldo; Ernest (Jackie) Aguinaldo; Domingo (Sunday) Aguinaldo; Fausto (Rose) Aguinaldo; daughters, Mariana (Benjamin) Villatora; Julia (Ferdinand “Andy”) Tambua; Carol (Nelson) Rita; 22 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Mark Darius Hennessy
Mark Darius Hennessy of Wainiha passed away at home on July 23, 2013, at the age of 58. He was born in San Francisco, California on June 3, 1955. Mark was a loving father, accomplished artist, carpenter, and handy man.
He is survived by his son, Justin Hennessy; daughter, Lea Hennessy; father, John Hennessy; mother, Marian Gregoroff; brothers, David Hennessy and Noah Gallagher; sister, Tonya Schineller; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Haena Beach Park.

Tokusuke ‘Toku’ Kutaka
‘Tokusuke “Toku” Kutaka of Wailua Homestead, Kauai, Hawaii passed away at his home on July 27, 2013 at the age of 83. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Wailua Homesteads. He served in the U.S. Army, and was retired from the County of Kauai.
“He was preceded in death by parents, Shoki and Hatsuko Kutaka; brothers, Shinichi and Masaichi Kutaka.

Stewart “Larry” Swacker of Kalaheo passed away on July 22, 2013 at his home at the age of 69. He was born on September 28, 1943 in Bremerton Washington; he was a Pharmacist owner of Garden Island Pharmacy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Bird Swacker; sister, Julia Vaughn; and grandson, Robert Francis Stein.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Swacker; son, Steven L. Swacker of Kalaheo; daughter, Lisa (Robert) B. Stein of Orlando Florida; father, Stewart W. Swacker of Dallas Texas; sisters, Virginia (Bob) Leef of Illinois and Carol Joe of Texas; and grandchildren, Kari-ann Baylee Stein and Mikayla Jolynn Swacker.

Matthew Robert Stradley of Kapaa, Kauai passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 18, 2013, at the age of 67. He was born in Richland, Ohio on October 29, 1945, and retired from United Airlines as the lead mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Stradley; daughter, Heather Scholten; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Jones; James Stradley; Linda Stradley; Nancy Pezzi; brothers-in-law, Christian Strohmaier; Robert Strohmaier; numerous nieces and nephews.

Maria B. Lorenzo of Waimea passed away on July 28, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. She is born on July 2, 1935 in the Philippines. She was a field worker with Global Ag.
She was preceded in death by spouse, Venancio Lorenzo; parents, Florentino (Maura) Barcena; brother, Juanito Barcena.
She is survived by her two daughters, Maura (Leo) Sloan of Las Vegas; and Lucia (Ricky) Kaui of Kapaa; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Stanley “Jumbo” Funaku of Lihue passed away on August 5, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. He was born on July 30, 1931 in Los Angeles California.
He was a retired Branch Manager with Occidental Corp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Seiichi and Sakae Funaku and brother, Alvin Funaku.
He is survived by his wife, Michiye F. Funaku; daughter, Cynthia Hanano of Lihue; brother, Edmund Funaku of Los Angeles; sisters, Nora Yamamoto of Pearl City and Miriam Onomura of Honolulu; four grandchildren; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
