Trixia Mich Soliva
Trixia Mich Soliva of Eleele passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 21, 2013 at the age of 6. She was born on October 30, 2006 in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. She was a student at Eleele Elementary School.
She is survived by her parents, Michael Soliva and Cherry Soliva; paternal grandparents, Roger Soliva and Delia Soliva of Eleele; maternal grandparents, Loreto Junsay Jr. and Felicidad Junsay of Philippines; paternal great-grandparent, Adoracion Soliva; uncles, Cristop Bon Amir Junsay, Ronald Soliva, and Darrel Soliva; aunt Irish Junsay; and numerous uncles, aunties, grandparents and cousins.
Wake service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm.
Funeral service is on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo, with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 am and Mass at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Frank Lopes Jr.
Frank Lopes Jr. of Lihue passed away on July 23, 2013 at the age of 71. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 7, 1942 and was a retired General Contractor and enjoyed living life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Rose Lopes Sr., Brother Raymond August and his in-laws Frank and Eleanor Carlos Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Lopes, two brothers, Gilbert Gomez of Las Vegas and Robert Stivers of Hilo. Six children, Deanne “Candy” (Mike) Lind of Wailua Homesteads; Sheri (Tom) Maier of Washington; Roxanne (Dave) Daugherty of California; Brian (Michelle) Lopes of Lihue; Maile (Ira) Silva of Lihue and Darin Lopes of Lihue; 19 grandchildren, Alana Ochoa, Alden Lind, Alanna Lind, Siera Maier, Chloe Maier, Chelsea Rhodes, Taylor Runco, Staphaine Daugherty, Gabe Daugherty, Tyler Lopes, Bradley Lopes, Kapono Lopes, Kamaile Lopes, Nainoa Lopes, Kaina Christian, Kelani Griep, Jordan Lee, Kainoa Silva, Kamaira Silva, and 1 great-grandchild, Ethan Rhodes; Brothers-in-law, Frank Carlos Jr., Richard Willson, Sisters-in-law Eleanor Hee, Donna Willson, Noreen Mokuau, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary at 3168 Poipu Rd., Koloa. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. Service at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception at noon. The Lopes family requests casual or aloha attire and flowers omitted.

Patrick J. Brun Sr.
Patrick James Brun Sr. of Kekaha passed away on July 25, 2013 at home at the age of 70. He was born on February 1, 1943 on Kauai. He was a retired worker at KVMH.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Adam and Daisy Brun; brother, Adam Ronald Brun;, and sisters Gracie Brun;, Barbara (Richard) Waalani.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Brun; daughter, Lorna Ouderkirk of Kekaha; son, Patrick (Nalani) Brun Jr. of Wailua; sisters, Marge (William) Cerny of Lawai; Anna (Albert) Braun of Utah; Linda Nawai of Koloa; Antonella (Carl) Schumaucher of Kapaa; Maryann (Wesley) Yorkman of Lawai; and Lexie (Randall) Cummings of Hanamaulu; four grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher and Andrew Ouderkirk and Kamalani Brun; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at St. Theresa Church with visitation from 9am and services at 10am. A celebration of his life will be held immediately after at Kekaha Neighborhood Center.
Scattering of his ashes will be done at a later time

Harue Kojima
Harue Kojima of Kapaa passed away on July 18, 2013, at the age of 83. She was born in Kona, Hawaii on February 8, 1930, and faithfully worked at Kojima Store.
She is survived by her husband, George Kojima of Kapaa; one son, Kevin Kojima of Kapaa; three daughters, Wanda Nagakura of Keaau, Hawaii; Iris Kojima of Oahu; Sharon Kojima of Kapaa; 3 grandchildren, JeriAnn Nagakura; T. J Nagakura; Jacqui Nagakura; six brothers, Kazuo (Ayako) Iwamuro; Wally (Joyce) Iwamuro; Mike (Mildred) Iwamuro; Richard Iwamuro; Arnold Iwamuro; Gary (Ruth) Iwamuro; two sisters, Yoshie Miyamoto and Gladys (Richard) Shigeta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dusty and Hoku.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Kapaa Jodo Mission. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m.

Janice Evelyn Shropshire
Janice Evelyn Shropshire of Kapaa passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on July 23, 2013, at the age of 85. She was born in New Hampshire on September 11, 1927, and retired as an executive secretary from California State University of Northredge.
She is survived by her daughter, Meg (Gary) Stouder-Betzen; son, James Neely Shropshire; 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Rose; numerous nieces and one nephew.
Private services will be held at her family’s home. Scattering of her ashes will take place at Pismo Beach, California.

Thomas Newsome
Thomas Gregory Newsome of Kapaa, Kauai formerly of Columbus, Ohio. Passed away on July 20, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 52. Born on August 31, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a bus driver for: National/Enterprise and Alamo Rent a car and was a veteran in the United States Army.
Preceded in death By his mother, Thelma Coles; sister, Lavosha Newsome. He is survived by: Soul Mate, Natalie Carlos, Kapaa; son, Delon (Chaneka) Newsome, OH; daughters, Denae (Deon) Woods, Georgia; Devosha Newsome, Georgia; sisters, Vanessa Newsome, Ohio; Rochelle Vancliff, Ohio; brothers, Vaughn Newsome, Chris Conley and Ben Conley, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
ACelebration of Life will be held on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel, Koloa. Visitation at 9:00 A.M. Service at 10:00 P.M. Casual attire.

Clara Rapozo
Clara Gomes Rapozo of Kapaa passed away at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on July 18, 2013, at the age of 91. She was born in Kealia, Kauai on May 17, 1922 and retired from St. Catherine school in Kapaa and Hanalei school as a cafeteria manager.
Preceded in death by her husband Willie M. Rapozo and daughter Veronica.
She is survived by one son, Richard Rapozo of California; three daughters, Linda Pacheco of Oregon, Laure Thacker of Georgia and Kathy Barretto of Kapaa; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Sisters: Helen Kaui and Jane Windberg; brothers; Joseph Gomes, Stanley Gomes, Allan Avillanoza and Walter Avillanoza.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kealia Cemetery with her husband.
