HANALEI – The Department of Water has scheduled a water outage for the Hanalei area on Tuesday, July 30, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning. The shutdown will allow the department to replace old valves at one of the tank sites in the area.
In the past, the Princeville Utilities Company, Inc. has been able to provide water to some of DOW’s customers during scheduled outages.
“However, PUCI is unable to provide water during this outage, therefore, all customers in the Hanalei and Waipa areas, from Ohiki Road to Waikoko, will have no water service,” according to a press release.
Department personnel will be going door to door to notify affected customers and businesses. A detailed map of all affected areas can be viewed online at www.kauaiwater.org
DOW will provide portable water tanks at Wailoli Park (Hanalei Park) for customers that run out of water during the shutdown. Customers will need to bring their own water containers.
