Sylvia Marie Allianic
Sylvia Marie Allianic of Makaweli, Kauai passed away on July 6, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 61. She was born in The Big Island on July 14, 1951.
She was a registered nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Mahi Jr.; daughter, Joweezet Mahi.
She is survived by husband, William Allianic Sr., Makaweli; sons, Arnold Abot, Hilo; Peter Mahi, Hilo; John (Genevieve “Chico”) Mahi, Lawai; daughter, Suzanna (Cyrus) Nagamine, Hilo; step daughter, Patricia (Stanley) Almeida, Koloa; William Allianic, Jr., Wailua Houselots; Wayne (Elizabeth “Liz”) Allianic, Lawai; Eric (Michelle) Allianic, Poipu; Gerald Allianic, Makaweli; numerous grandchildren; numerous aunties and uncles and nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
Private services were held.

Steven Dinnan
Steven Joseph Dinnan of Kilauea passed away at home on June 20, 2013, at the age of 60. He was born in California on December 14, 1952, and was a well known master carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Concepcion “Ceppi” Dinnan; brothers, Raymond A. Dinnan and Albert M. Dinnan.
He is survived by his daughter, Shawna Dinnan, son, Steven Joseph Dinnan, both of Kilauea; brothers, Louis A (Valerie) Dinnan and Sean F. (Daphne) Dinnan both of Oahu; sister-in-law, Frances Dinnan of Anahola; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 8:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. A reception will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lyndelle Makanani
Lyndelle Kaipolani Ah Kiu Makanani of Kapahi passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 6, 2013 at the age of 60. She is born on June 30, 1953 in Lihue Kauai. She was a sales representative at Nakoa Enterprises.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Martha Chow.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Makanani; daughters, Kendra (Brad) Inanod and Kaylyn Makanani, both of Kapahi; brothers, Ken Chow of Niumalu, Clayton (Kimberly) Chow of Wailua Homesteads, and Michael (Malia) Chow of California; sister, Darlene (George) Thronas of Wailua Homesteads; one grandchild, Tawehi Oana-Makanani; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Kapaa New Town Park from noon to 5 p.m. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Samuel L. Keala Jr.
Samuel L. Keala Jr., of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away at the Hi’olani Care Center-Kahala Nui, Oahu on June 28, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born on June 16, 1928 in Honolulu, Oahu. He was an Engineer for Lihue Plantation Company and Project Engineer for James Campbell Estate.
He is survived by former wife, Jalna; daughter, Kathryn (Ford) Keala; sons, Lynden (Lani) Keala, Graydon ‘Buddy’ (Kathleen) Keala, Kauai, Malcolm ‘Kaina’ (Junine) Keala, Perth, Australia; 7 granddaughters and one grandson; brother, Francis Keala.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Star of the Sea Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 am. Mass to follow. Casual attire. Sam will have a burial at a later date.

Marshall Sommerdorf
Marshall Elliott Sommerdorf of Eleele passed away in Wailua on May 8, 2013 at the age of 79. He was born in North Dakota on March 5, 1934, and was a tax aid volunteer for AARP.
He is survived by two sons, Marshall Sommerdorf and William (Kim) Sommerdorf of North Carolina; one daughter, Anna Seidel of New York; step-daughter, Amy (Les) Nagashima of Wailua; 2 grandchildren and long time companion Emily Seidel.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. A gathering at Salt Pond will be held after services at 3:00 p.m.

Harue Kojima
Harue Kojima of Kapaa passed away on July 18, 2013, at the age of 83. She was born in Kona, Hawaii on February 8, 1930, and faithfully worked at Kojima Store.
She is survived by her husband, George Kojima of Kapaa; one son, Kevin Kojima of Kapaa; three daughters, Wanda Nagakura of Keaau, Hawaii; Iris Kojima of Oahu; Sharon Kojima of Kapaa; 3 grandchildren, JeriAnn Nagakura; T. J Nagakura; Jacqui Nagakura; six brothers, Kazuo (Ayako) Iwamuro; Wally (Joyce) Iwamuro; Mike (Mildred) Iwamuro; Richard Iwamuro; Arnold Iwamuro; Gary (Ruth) Iwamuro; two sisters, Yoshie Miyamoto and Gladys (Richard) Shigeta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dusty and Hoku.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, visitation at 9 a.m. with services celebrated at 10 a.m. at Kapaa Jodo Mission. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.

Rose Kapela Christian of Anahola, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on July 18, 2013 at the age of 88 at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home. She is born on May 14, 1925 in Laie, Oahu. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by mother, Rose Kaomea Keawemauhili; father, Thomas Valenine Kintaro; husbands, George P. Keaweamahi, Jr. and George S. Christian; sons, Colton, Silman, and Lyle.
She is survived by sons, Julian and Keawe Rillamas, Oahu; George III, Darius, Latham; and Wendell Keaweamahi, Kauai; daughters, Cleo Kamae; Georgina KeawemauhiliKeaweamahi; and Pearl Keaweamahi, Kauai; Edith Bunch, Arizona; brothers, David Mamane; David and John Kamauoha, Oahu; sisters, Jennie Kojima; Happy Taualii; Louise Sanford, Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends; 31 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.

Harry Nakamura
Harry Masao Nakamura of Kealia passed away on July 20, 2013 at his home at the age of 91. Born on April 1, 1922 in Kealia, Kauai, he was a sorter with US Postal Service in California.
He was preceded in death by his parents Shizuo and Shizue Nakamura, and brother, Paul Nakamura.
He is survived by his two brothers, George Nakamura of Honolulu, and Edward Nakamura of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private burial service.

Shizuno Uegawa
Shizuno Uegawa of Kapahi, Kauai, passed away at home on June 11, 2013 at the age of 95. She is born on February 23, 1918 in Kauai. She retired from Coco Palms and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kiyoto Uegawa; parents, Kaichi and Toshi Okasako; and brothers, Tsutao and Masao Okasako.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene (Merle) Uegawa; Lincoln (Betty Jane) Uegawa; daughters, Jane Kanada; Amy (Roy) Kimura; Katy Uegawa; and Irene (Rudy) Lekarczyk; brothers, Teruo (Nobuko) Okasako; Hugh (Alice) Okasako; sister-in-law, Michiko Okasako; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service was held.

Paul Lee Guenther of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away at sea on July 19, 2013 at the age of 59. He was born on August 25, 1953 in Orlando, Florida. He was the internet manager at Ohana Motors.
He was preceded in death by father, Arno Guenther; sister, Diane Tunigold.
He is survived by mother, Loretta (Bill) Schieffer, California; sons, Geoffrey (Paula) Guenther, Texas; Jeremy Guenther, Texas; sisters, Debbie (Jeff) Maulhardt, California; Laura (Brad) Scott, California; 1 grandchild; numerous aunties and uncles and nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
