Rev. Bruce Nakamura and Ted Inouye want to remind people that the Lihue Hongwanji Mission will host the bon dances this Friday and Saturday starting with dinner service from 6 p.m. in Kapaia.
Josie Pablo of the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital is getting antsy about her bon dance on Aug. 9 (is Arnold Leong going to be doing flying saucers again?), and Brycen Hiraoka of the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital was busy helping serve at the West Kauai Hongwanji, Hanapepe Temple. Brycen said KVMH Auxiliary hosts its bon dances Aug. 16 from 5 p.m.
Winston Ogata was helping with the flying saucers in Hanapepe, and Gary Ueunten was thrilled to discover coffee at only 50 cents.
George Costa was busy helping clean the Tree Tunnel, but still had energy to taiko at the bon dance. Similarly, Sandi Kato-Klutke (and her visiting Colorado ohana) had time to check out dinner in Hanapepe before heading home after a long day at the Kauai Community Market.
