LIHUE — The visitor who died Wednesday while snorkeling in waters off Nualolo Kai along the Na Pali Coast was identified Friday by Kauai Police Department.

Manuel Benegas, 48, of Brentwood, Tenn., was snorkeling with a tour boat and was pronounced dead at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. The death was ruled a drowning and is the 12th to occur on Kauai in 2013.
