LIHUE – A free workshop on how to integrate the risk of viral hepatitis, HIV, and STDs into substance abuse counseling will be held on Friday, June 21 at the Lihue Civic Center, Pi‘ikoi Building, conference room A and B.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the training will start at 9 a.m.
Upon completion of the training, participants will receive continuing education credits toward a substance abuse counselor certification program.
Heather Lusk, program manager for the Community Health Outreach Work to Prevent AIDS Project, will be conducting the workshop.
Lunch will be provided free of charge by Malama Pono.
The workshop is sponsored by the state Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, Life’s Choices Kaua’i, Malama Pono Health Services, and the CHOW project.
