LIHUE —The Kauai County Council will put on its hospitality hats to host the 2013 Hawaii State Association of Counties annual conference at Kauai Beach Resort over two days next week.
The conference begins June 20, with the annual HSAC executive committee meeting and general membership meeting.
On June 21, the main conference will be held in the resort’s Jasmine Ballroom, starting at 7:30 a.m.
The conference schedule will highlight the importance of preserving the host culture through government support of Hawaiian organizations, policy and programs, management of Kauai’s unique cultural assets through community stewardship, ways to make agricultural operations sustainable and preservation of natural resources.
Kaua‘i Councilman Mel Rapozo currently serves as the HSAC executive committee president.
