Federico Raganit “Fred” Cuaresma of Puhi, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on May 23, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. He was born on July 18, 1925 in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
He was a retired Catholic Charities outreach worker, Lihue Airport security officer and a World War II Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Cuaresma; sister, Avelina Asuncion; son, Teoddy Cuaresma; daughter, Joyce Cuaresma.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Pulido Cuaresma, Puhi, Kauai; three children, Edgardo (Zenaida Tamayo) Cuaresma, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Maribel (Ulysses) Jacalne, of Anaheim, California; Mildred “Millie” (Paul) Curtis, Puhi, Kauai. 8 grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Vanden Bos, of Calgary Alberta, Canada; Moses Kristopher Cuaresma, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Melody Maica Jacalne, Anaheim, California; Franzylo Jacalne, Anaheim, California; Alexis Jacalne, Anaheim, California; Kathryn Lokelani “Keila” Curtis of Puhi; Isabelle Jasmine “Jazzy” Curtis of Puhi; and Darianne Marie “Din Din” Curtis of Puhi; one great grandchild, Isabella Rosa Vanden Bos, of Calgary Alberta, Canada; sister, Christine (Fernando) Guerrero, of Puhi; nieces, Miriam Pagador, of Koloa; Evita Asuncion, of Lihue; Grace Harlacher, of Lihue; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are at St. Raphael Church Koloa on Saturday, June 1, 2013 with family viewing from 8:00 a.m., visitation for all at 8:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Koloa, Kauai is assisting the family with arrangements.
