LIHUE — Kauai residents and businesses have from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. to recycle their electronic waste at the Vidinha Stadium parking lot.
Operated by Pacific Corporate Solutions, the eWaste collection started Friday with a steady stream of people, the majority being business representatives, filling the stadium parking lot.
Due to the start of the Kauai Polynesian Festival and the weekly sunshine market, the collection is being done at the west end of the parking lot.
Following Saturday’s collection, T&N Recycling Computer Recycling Services will host monthly eWaste collections at the Kauai Resource Center, located at 3460 Ahukini Road, near the Lihue Refuse Transfer Station.
Residents and businesses can drop off items every second Friday and Saturday starting June 7 and 8.
Electronics will only be accepted for recycling during the designated times and locations, states a county release. Materials which are left at facilities outside of the scheduled times will be deemed “illegal dumping” and disposed of as mixed waste.
Visit www.kauai.gov/recycling/ or call the Recycling Office at 241-4841 for more information.
