LIHUE — In celebration of its 20th anniversary and in an effort to give back to the communities it serves, AdvoCare International, a health and wellness company based in Plano, Texas, recently contributed $20,000 to Kauai Independent Food Bank.
The Kauai Independent Food Bank is the smallest food bank in the state but feeds the largest percentage of the county population, according to a news release.
“We are so grateful that AdvoCare has chosen to support us with this financial gift,” said Frank Ranger, executive director of Kauai Independent Food Bank. “They clearly stand behind their mission of being ‘advocates who care’ and on behalf of Kauai Independent Food Bank, I want to thank them for this generous donation, which will go a long way toward fighting hunger throughout Kauai and Niihau.”
This is one of 20 donations to be made in 20 cities across the U.S. coinciding with AdvoCare’s leadership training events in 2013.
“AdvoCare is a company with a strong heritage of giving back,” said Allison Levy, General Counsel for AdvoCare.
“We are proud to partner with Kauai Independent Food Bank and provide them with $20,000 in support of the tremendous work they do feeding local families in need.”
