LIHU‘E — There is still time to register and be part of the 10th annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course. This year’s event is dubbed the Centennial Scholarship Golf Tournament.
Presented by the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce, PS&D NAPA Auto Parts and Tire Warehouse, the tournament still has room for golfers as well as Par 3, silver, gold, diamond and platinum sponsors.
The tournament will be played Sunday with registration starting at 6:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
Entry fees are $125 per player, or $480 for a four-man Corporate Challenge Team. All fees include green fees, golf cart, lunch and one mulligan per player.
Tournament format is individual low net, men’s and women’s, Callaway Flights and Corporate Challenge Competition, which is four-person aggregate net scores.
Players will use their established USGA approved handicap with a maximum of 27 for men and 36 maximum for women. Players with no handicap will be assigned a Callaway handicap based on their play during the tournament round.
A Closest to the Hole competition will take place on the Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course holes 3, 7 and 17 with cash prizes.
A $5 contribution will enable golfers to “hit it on the green on Hole 11” to earn eligibility for a random drawing of a special door prize.
Prizes will be awarded to the 10th place for the grand prize. The 100th place individual will earn the runner-up grand prize. First place in the Corporate Team Challenge will earn a grand prize and the perpetual trophy.
Random drawings will also be available including a travel package worth $1,000 to a destination of the winner’s choice.
For nongolfers, the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce invites people to have lunch at the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa for $35 per person.
