Kudos to Kaua‘i Filipino Women’s Club President Hannah Timbol and event chair Nancy Apalla on the great Mother’s Day luncheon at the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach (Barbara Gusman became the newest KFWC member).
Darrell Low was enjoying the Leilani and Lurline show from the corridor leading to the Courtyard’s Paddle Room, and Naty Bali had her mom, Engracia Aguzar VDA de Baris, at the event, too.
Charlmaine Bulosan, KFWC vice president, even arranged to have the five Miss Kaua‘i Filipina contestants — Analyn Bancud, Lauren Manibog, Allen Mae Ortega and Rachel Carnate — on hand with their chaperone Donovan Pegeder.
Cascade Mayer, Timbol’s granddaughter (Hannah said she already has great-grandchildren), will be graduating Kaua‘i High School Friday. Darnel Aquino of Project Grad at Kaua‘i said seniors can still sign up for the post-graduation all-nighter.
OK, today is the Salvation Army senior luncheon at the Hanapepe Corps with Lts. Austin and Nayomia Anderson. They were out at the Charity Walk countdown and said the event is to promote fellowship between the seniors, especially in the Westside and South Shore.
