Helen Kalama Silva of Kalaheo died May 2, 2013, at The Queens Medical Center on Oahu at the age of 86. She was born April 10, 1927, in Honolulu Hawaii. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Paul Philip Silva, Sr.; son, Noland Silva; parents, Abraham and Helena Kalama; brothers, Egon Kalama; Curly Kalama; , sisters, Thelma Aiu; Harriet (Sonny) Holbron; and Marjorie Gonsalves; father- and mother-in-law, Louis and Minnie Silva; brother-in-laws William and Louis (Emily) Silva; great-grandchildren, Solomon and Rachel Corpuz; and Rena Marie Boyer.
She is survived by children;, Paul P. (LaVerne) Silva Jr.; Paulette (Joe) Grace; Helena (Alfred) Medeiros; Winona (Fenton) Lee; Helene (Orlie) Kimble; Paula Bacio; Maryann (Gabby) Manintin; Nornette (Jeffrey) Gallardo; Egon (Gwendolyn) Silva Sr.; Hildegarde (Randal) Miyashiro; Abram Silva (Kelly Mullikin); Xan Silva (Selena Camat); and Ira (Maile) Silva; Cameron Silva; sister, Hazel Bishaw of Honolulu; sisters-in-laws, Rose Kalama of Honolulu; Alice Silva of California; Caroline (Alfred) Hart of Honoka’a Hawai’i; brother-in-law, Charles Joseph (Lillian) Silva; 37 Grandchildren, 58 Great-grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo; mass at 11 a.m. Burial at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe to follow. Casual attire.

Kenneth Konishi
Kenneth Konishi of Wailua Houselots passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on May 8, 2013, at the age of 79. He was born in Eleele on February 6, 1934, and retired from U.S. Geological Survey as a Hydraulic Engineer Technician.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tatsuichi and Eiko Konishi; brother, Charles Konishi; sisters, Sachiko (Fumio) Hanki; Harumi (Kumeo) Amaki; brothers-in-law, Tom Matsuoka; Isao Ito.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Konishi; son, Keith (Natalie) Konishi; daughter, Melanie (Aaron) Furugen; sisters, Ann Matsuoka; Yaeko Ito; Edith (Masami) Kojiri; sister-in-law, Betty Konishi; five grandchildren, Joni (Norman) Matsuzaki; Ryan (Tysha) Konishi; Teri Konishi; Kira (Earl) Furugen; Kahai Furugen; 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cody Matsuzaki and Isaiah Konishi.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Kapaa with visitation from 3:00 p.m. and services celebrated at 4:00 p.m.

Robert H. Tsuchiya
Robert H. Tsuchiya, 79, of Kapaa, died at Garden Isle Health Care on April 18, 2013. Born on September 27, 1933 in Kapaa, Kauai, he was an automotive mechanic with Ford Motor Co.
He is survived by sisters, Eleanor (Harry) Sasaki; Elsie (Gordon) Koigawachi; and Gladys (Herbert) Yamashiro; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ward Hanson
Ward Hanson of Aloha Oregon passed away on February 11, 2013 at home at the age of 67. He was born on April 30, 1945 in Canada.
He is survived by wife, Katie Hanson; sons, Paul Hanson; Craig Hanson; their mother, Patricia Hanson; and 1 grandson, T.J Hanson.

Julita Calima
Julita Negrillo Calima of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 12, 2013, at the age of 65. She was born in Napaset, Luna, La Union, Philippines on March 9, 1948, and retired as an elementary school teacher in the Philippines.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rogelio Calima.
She is survived by three children, Roel (Bessie) Calima of Illinois, Loreta (Chris) Badua of the Philippines, Virgilio (Ruth) Calima of Illinois; four grandchildren; nine siblings, Feniano (Carmen) Negrillo, Maxima (Gary) Gaines, Cipriano (Shirley) Negrillo, Teresa (Percival) Bailey, Patricia Negrillo, Maria (Chito) Zabala, Ramon (Glean) Negrillo, Vicky (Cecilio) Redaus, Imelda (Noli) Quiban; 16 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Bibiana Manalang Aribon of Hanamaulu passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 8, 2013, at the age of 86. She was born in Balaoan, La Union, Philippines on November 25, 1926, and operated her own care home.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lucas Aribon; sisters and brothers, Sebastiana; Simeon; Ignacio; Paula; Agapito; Victoria Ana; Luis; and niece, Julita Calima.
She is survived by her two sons, Edwin (Sherilyn) Aribon of Oahu; Rogelio (Tanya) Aribon of Hanamaulu; two grandchildren, Lucas Aribon of Oahu; Travis Aribon of Hanamaulu; nieces and nephews, Feniano & Carmen Negrillo; Maxima & Gary Gaines; Cipriano & Shirley Negrillo; Teresa & Percival Bailey; Patricia Negrillo; Maria & Mirando Zabala; Ramon & Glean Negrillo; Vicky & Cecilio Redaus; Mel & Noli Quiban; and extended family.

Rose Lokelani Ho’a Spencer, 87, of Lihue, formerly of Laupahoehoe; passed away at home on March 30, 2013.
She was born in Keaukaha, Hilo, Hawaii on January 11, 1926. She was co-owner of Spencer Equipment Corporation, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Lavern (Pat) Roberts of Oahu; one son, Enias “Kalau” (Noelani) Spencer Jr. of Big Island; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Laupahoehoe Congregational Church with visitation from 9 am to 11 am and services beginning at 11 am. Casual attire is suggested.
