LIHU‘E —Peggy Stowe of Koloa was named the scholarship winner of $3,000 in integrated services at the Dillberg Integrated Healthcare in Po‘ipu.
The first MOM Scholarship enables Stowe to enjoy services at the Po‘ipu clinic for a year.
DIH also presented a $500 gift certificate for services to runner-up Bernie Crane of Hanapepe. An additional 17 honorable mention gift certificates of $150 for Functional Healthcare Evaluations were presented to applicants.
“For the past couple of years, or perhaps more, Peggy has been suffering from who knows what and it would be great for her to feel well,” said Patti Brooks, Stowe’s friend who nominated her for the scholarship. The team at DIH was looking for a woman interested in being her best and someone who wanted to learn more about health and how to maintain it. Applicants from throughout the island submitted forms.
Dillberg Integrated Healthcare employs a functional healthcare approach that means the examinations and evaluations focus on whole body function and vitality.
Stowe’s story fit the scholarship because she was excited to improve her life and take advantage of all of the different aspects of healthcare available at DIH, a press release said.
The DIH team plans to document Stowe’s healthcare journey over the next year, and is hoping that through hard work, the healthcare changes for Stowe and the honorable mention mothers will be transformational and have a great impact on their lives.
