DJ the Clown and Happy the Clown were both in their element Sunday during the Kodomo no hi, or Children’s Day, festivities at the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Preschool.
Elton Ushio not only had his kendo group doing demonstrations (do you realize the Star Wars light saber was inspired by kendo?), he even supervised the mochi pounding demonstrations.
Mona Lee was busy with the chili, and Kaupena Kinimaka was multi-tasking, overseeing the cooking and solving problems at work.
Karin Panui loves her Galaxy cell phone (she got the big one) because she was able to man her booth (Mailelani even had purses at the Hale ‘Opio Passion for Purses event) and keep track of her sister in Kilauea. She said Maile Cox is doing well with the f’real shakes, smoothies and frozen coffees. If you haven’t tried one, stop by the Wailua Shell gas station and hope there is no line.
OK, it’s the last chance for Mother’s Day — Risa Clemmons is having a craft fair in Po‘ipu, and Judy Webb is having the artisan craft fair at the Kapa‘a Beach Park on Saturday.
Happy Mother’s Day, Kaua‘i!
