Drinks at Sushi Bushido

Accompanying the wide selection of sushi at Sushi Bushido is a plethora of sake, beers and cocktails. Restaurant Manager Grant Holcomb prepared two sake martinis that are

refreshing, tasty and worth every cent: The Lychee Sake Pomegranate Martini and the Green Apple Sake Martini. These two cocktails are new and will be a part of the cocktail menu in the near future.

“These drinks are not on the menu yet, but we plan to revamp the cocktail menu and find out what kind of drinks people want,” Holcomb said. “The new thing is making mixed drinks out of sake, so we use our flavored sake for these new drinks.”

The Lychee Sake and Pomegranate Martini

The Lychee Sake Pomegranate Martini is priced at $8 and is made out of lychee sake, pomegranate liqueur and Grey Goose Vodka. This seasonal cocktail comes with a seedless lychee fruit. The lychee sake, pomegranate liqueur and Grey Goose combination creates a sweet blend that goes well with any sushi dish on the menu.

Green Apple Sake Martini

The Green Apple Sake Martini is also priced at $8. This simple concoction is made with two ingredients: Green Apple sake and Blueberry Stoli Vodka. The combination of this cocktail creates a flavor comparable to Jolly Rancher candy — sweet and yummy.

From 2 to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, is happy hour at Sushi Bushido. Holcomb said patrons can enjoy the Golden Roll — salmon, tuna, crab and avocado rolled in seasoned panko and served tempura style on an avocado unago aioli — for 50 percent off. Typically the Golden Roll sells for $10.95 for the 14 karat and $17.95 for the 24 karat.

“We do the Golden Roll for 50 percent off, we do Kirin Ichiban at a discounted price, hot sake at a discounted price, local beers at a discounted price and some hand-rolled sushi for $3.75.”
