PUHI — Kaua‘i Therapy & Wellness and In Home Services opened a new site Wednesday during a Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting ceremony.
The clinic is in the Puhi Building, adjacent to the Kaua‘i Harley-Davidson shop.
“We have an office in Kalaheo where we opened more than a year ago,” said owner Mindy Murray. “In that time, we discovered we needed a clinic and moved to open the Puhi location.”
Owned and operated by the mother-daughter team of Arlene Baker and Murray, the new clinic is at 3-1866 Kaumuali‘i Highway.
Baker, who holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of San Jose California, has been practicing as a licensed OT on Kaua‘i since the 1980s.
Her daughter Murray is a graduate of Kaua‘i High School and Kaua‘i Community College. She earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Loma Linda University. She has worked for more than 11 years as an occupational therapist on Kaua‘i.
Like her mother, Murray is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association as well as community outreach programs.
Kaua‘i In Home Therapy Services offers individualized physical, occupational and speech therapy treatments by licensed therapists, working with people of all ages.
The staff works with specialized treatment for a variety of problems including loss of balance and falls, loss of strength and mobility, decrease in independence, loss of endurance, musculoskeletal injuries and associated with pain and stiffness.
The clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid, HMSA, VA, UHA, and most other insurance plans.
During the opening of its Puhi facility, Kaua‘i Therapy and Wellness is offering a free 830 laser treatment, a new healing and pain relief treatment, with an appointment.
